On-line Purchase Dispute

On Thursday August 21st 2014 I ordered on line the video “WordPress for Beginners” from HPK Productions, a small business owned by Phil and Heidi Kerner in Erie, PA, USA. I paid $14.97 through PayPal and in addition to the PayPal receipt I received an on-line acknowledgement from HPK Productions, viz. http://www.hpkproductions.com/?page_id=11 which promised to send a separate email which will provide me with further details on accessing my downloadable or digital product.

No such email arrived. So on Friday August 22nd I sent the following message by email to support@hpkproductions.com: – “Hi, I paid for WordPress for Beginners via Paypal about twelve hours ago and have not heard from you since. What’s the process for receiving it?”

I received no reply. So I sent an email marked Urgent as follows: –“Hi, Yesterday you said ‘Thank You for your payment. Your transaction has been completed, and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. Depending on the product or service that you have purchased, you may have also been sent a separate email which will provide you with further details on accessing your downloadable or digital product. Please be sure to check both your spam and/or junk email folders first before contacting us.’ I received no email from you since. I contacted you by email sixteen hours ago but have had no reply. You promised instant access to WordPress for Beginners. I am at a loss.

Trusting you,

William Patrick Crean”

Still no reply. So at 2 pm Irish time on Saturday August 23rd I sent this email, marked Last Chance: – ‘Hi, I have written to you twice already politely asking you to send me the downloadable link for “WordPress for Beginners”, which I purchased from you two days ago. If I do not receive a communication from you within the next five hours, I shall lodge a complaint with Paypal.

In disappointment,

William Patrick Crean’

It’s over twenty hours later I am still awaiting a reply.  I have 45 days from the date of the transaction to open a dispute in the PayPal Resolution Centre.

As we are now into a weekend and I am dealing with a family-run company and because of the time difference between Ireland and America, I shall take no further action until Tuesday August 27th.

This experience concluded when, not having been contacted by HPK Productions, PayPal refunded the purchase price to me.
